The report references analysis of data from more than 15,000 older people by Age UK (February 2017), which showed that engagement in arts activities makes the highest contribution to overall wellbeing.

CQC report advocates the use of arts as a means for care homes to achieve excellence

The State of Care report is an annual assessment of health and social care in England that highlights examples of good and outstanding care, and identifies factors that maintain high-quality care.The report says that “making best use of the arts to find creative and innovative ways to enable people to have a fuller life” is key to care homes delivering the best service for older people.

Jeremy Corbyn visits Hospital Rooms art project in dementia care unit

In January 2018, Leader of the Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn came to the Garnet Ward, a mental health unit for people with dementia and other challenges, to see how we are using the arts to make a significant contribution to the health, well being and quality of life of older people.
